November 6th, 2012, Nanjing Electric Wins The 500kV HVDC WATL Project In Alberta
After months of rigorous testing and a factory audit, Altalink and their partners SNC Lavalin have awarded HD Supply the contract to supply over 200,000 Nanjing Electric toughened glass insulators for their 500kV HVDC Western Alberta Transmission Line. Construction of the new line will begin in 2013 and will run 350 km from Edmonton to Calgary, Alberta. Read more.

July 9th, 2012, Nanjing Electric To Supply Xcel Energy For 345kV Tuco Transmission Line
Xcel Energy, one on the nation’s largest utilities, covering 8 US States, has officially approved Nanjing Electric toughened glass insulators to their material list. The rigorous qualification was fueled by the growing demand for glass insulators over porcelain, and the respected efforts of our sales team in Minnesota and Colorado. The qualification follows two other recent approvals in the region at Minnkota Power Cooperative and Stanley Consultants. Nanjing Electric, manufacturer of toughened glass insulators, is the largest maker of glass insulators in China.

October 11th, 2012, Nanjing Electric Builds The Worlds Highest Strength Suspension Insulator
In order to meet China’s growing demand for UHV DC transmission construction projectneeds, Nanjing Electric has developed the world highest strength suspension insulator. The830kN (83 tons) mechanical and electrical strength toughened glass insulator surpasses Nanjing’s 760kN insulator developed in 2010. The research and development of 830kN was extremely difficult so the company had to invest considerable resources into the product design, formulation and processing equipment to pass the national technical appraisal. Read more.

March 12, 2012, Nanjing Electric Wins Contract For Worlds Longest HVDC Transmission Line In Brazil
The IE Madeira Transmission line is the world's longest Direct Current transmission line under construction, covering 2,375 km. It has two circuits (TL1 and TL2) and crosses the Goiás and São Paulo states - all the way from Porto Velho to Araraquara. The line is built to withstand harsh geographical conditions, such as the Amazon rain forest and the Brazilian savanna (Cerrado). Read more.

October 14th, 2011, Nanjing Electric Successful On 800kV Transmission Line In China
After it’s development of China’s first 550kN AC and DC toughened glass insulators in 2008, Nanjing Electric has successfully completed delivery of over 130,000 units of 550kN DC glass insulators for the construction of the Jinping-Southern Jiangsu 800kV DC transmission line.
